Wildebeest Calving Season

Tour overview

The Great Serengeti wildebeest migration is the inspiration for our calving season program, which focuses on wildlife movement in search of nourishment. The majority of wildebeest are found in the Serengeti National Park’s southern and central areas, as well as the Ndutu area.

In a span of a few weeks, the calving season sees through half a million young wildebeest brought into the world due to the rainy season and the fertile volcanic soil. The months of January, February, and March are ideal for viewing thousands of wildebeest grazing on the short plains grass found in the Ndutu area and other southern parts of the Serengeti.
